The MFH

The Mac-A-Cheek Foundation for the Humanities is a non-profit

organization responsible for public programming,

education and research at Piatt Castles.

We are pleased to announce that plans are underwayto develop new exhibits and public programs to commemorate the

sesquicentennial of the beginning of the Civil War in 2011.  A research project funded through the  Ohio Humanities

Council Summer Internship program is underway to help us in this process.  David James, a senior at Urbana University

with majors in both high school social studies education and in history, is conducting primary research under the

direction of Dr. Michael J. Rhyne, and working with Triad middle school teacher, Amy Goodwin and Margaret Piatt

on a project tilted.  "Front Line to Freedom?:  The Piatt Family in the Sectional Crisis."  We plan to offer new exhibits

beginning Memorial Day weekend 2011.  Please check this website for updates on our plan.
